Northampton Band Sarpa Salpa Releases New Song “Dreaming”

No Comments News

‘Dreaming,’ the band’s most recent release, is a stormer of a single that examines the highs and lows of being in a current band. From its soaring, kaleidoscopic synthesisers to Marcus Marooth’s traditionally forceful vocals, the track has an amazing feeling of personality and character, which reaches a culmination during its massive, emotional finish. More fantastic music from one of the UK’s best-kept secrets, a band who deserves every bit of praise they get.

You’re probably familiar with Sarpa Salpa, a Northampton-based indie pop band. Colorful synths, massive indie pop melodies and beats, assured vocals, and an unstoppable sense of joy. I’m not sure what to say to you if you don’t already know that.

Fresh off their first US gigs, the band played eight shows in five days at the prestigious SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas, where they gained a slew of new fans and received accolades from Billboard Magazine for their “indie disco” sound.

Sarpa Salpa began their UK tour with a sold-out gig in their hometown of Northampton, followed by appearances at festivals such as The Great Escape and 110 Above Festival, as well as headline shows in London, Manchester, and Bristol. The band was created in the English town of Northampton, and it has evolved into its current shape. George Neath (guitar/synth), Marcus Marooth (vocals/guitar), Meg Amirghiasvand (bass/synth), and Charlie Doe (drums) are four friends who came together to form Sarpa Salpa.

Sarpa Salpa have established a distinct sound that has earned them a dedicated fan base across the UK and beyond, with influences spanning from indie to pop to rock. Salpa has accumulated an incredible array of radio honours, thanks to widespread support from the likes of BBC 6 Music icon Steve Lamacq and BBC Radio 1 tastemaker Sarpa. Sarpa Salpa’s music has also been included on multiple episodes of E4’s Made in Chelsea, introducing their brand of indie disco to a new audience. Sarpa Salpa’s live presentation is recognised for being lively and strong. From Manchester to Portsmouth, the band has sold out nearly 200 gigs across the United Kingdom.

They got the PPL Momentum Fund in 2021 to release their EP “A Feeling You Can’t Replace,” which has over 250,000 Spotify and Apple Music listens and sold out in 48 hours on vinyl. Sarpa Salpa are on track to have a tremendous year in 2022, with over 1,000,000 streams across their releases.
