Aja Naomi King is never afraid to take centre stage. It’s inherited by the actress, activist, and brand ambassador for L’Oréal Paris. She was so inspired by the experience of selecting L’Oréal Paris’s Women of Worth nationwide awardees last year that she returned for a second year, L’Oréal Paris’ 18th, to help highlight and honour the women driving various important causes across the U.S.
These women are extraordinary,” King told PEOPLE exclusively of the “wonderful human beings” being honored. “I am utterly grateful to have the opportunity to help others learn about these causes, how they can support and get involved to amplify these organizations.”
King uses L’Oréal Paris Infallible Matte Resistance Liquid Lipstick to touch up her lips. The brand ambassador, who has been with PEOPLE since 2017, previously stated that she was inspired to practise self-care by witnessing her mother, aunts, and grandmother make time for it as a child.
King says she is “so touched by what these women have been able to achieve. “At the end of the day, I think everyone walks away from the event feeling like it doesn’t matter what you do but being able to take some action, big or small, matters.”
