As Riley, the original protagonist of the 2015 movie, celebrates her 13th birthday at the beginning of the clip, her shift from childhood to adolescent is seriously upsetting Headquarters. Subsequently, the five emotions she represents—Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Tony Hale), Envy (Liza Lapira), Anger (Lewis Black), and Sadness (Phyllis Smith)—awaken in the middle of the night to find a demolition crew breaking and entering their facility in order to install a new console with an orange colour.
In addition to Anxiety, a couple more new voices can be heard in the teaser, as Mindy Kaling (as Disgust) and Bill Hader (as Fear) are replaced by Hale and Lapira.
